The Ultimate Blissful Crack Cake

The Crack Cake has been circulating around the internet for some time.  It looked delicious, but I simply didn’t care for the name “Crack Cake”.  Without a doubt, we all realize the negative connotation that is associated with that word, “crack”!  An addictive illegal drug.

Well, to say the least, one day I needed a quick dessert made from ingredients that I already had on hand.  All that was needed was a box of yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding, a bit of cinnamon, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, butter, oil, and a little white wine to bring it all together.  For me, it was the beginning of The Ultimate Blissful Crack Cake.  Now, that name feels a bit classier to me.  I get it, the cake is so addicting.  Once I tasted this cake, I couldn’t just eat one piece.  It’s like candy on a plate that’s difficult to stop eating!

Of course, you could be sitting down to eat The Ultimate Blissful Crack Cake after an hour a half.  Your family and friends will become addicted to this cake, as a result, they will think you worked all day preparing it.  This cake is moist, rich with such full-body, and flavor.  Consider this a cheat day dessert, all of this goodness shouldn’t be eaten all the time.  Hint, it’s loaded with calories!

Prepare The Tube Pan First

  1. Start by preparing the pan. The first thing you want to do is to spray a tube or bundt pan with a spray oil.
  2. Secondly, sprinkle the inside of the pan with flour from the tube to the sides and the bottom.  In fact, make sure all surfaces are covered.
  3. Next, lightly tap the excess flour from the pan.  Flouring the pan prevents the cake from sticking to the pan during the baking process.

Steps To Make The Cake

  1. Start by placing the cake mix, vanilla pudding, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the wet ingredients the vegetable oil, and water to the dry ingredients.
  3. Blend the eggs into the batter.
  4. The last step is to add the white wine to the batter and mix until thoroughly blended.

  1. Pour the batter into the tube pan.  Bake the cake at 350 degrees for one hour.
  2.   Allow the cake to cool for 8 to 10 minutes to prevent the cake from falling apart.  Take a metal spatula or dinner knife to gently separate the cake from the pan before flipping the cake onto a plate.  Gently remove the Ultimate Blissful Crack Cake from the tube pan.

Can This Cake Be Made In Advance?

Yes, you can make this cake in advance and freeze it for later. You can also freeze any leftovers. I like to cut the cake into slices and freeze the individual slices for a quick treat later.  Better yet, pack it up and send it home with your guests and family.  Let them deal with all those delicious calories.

Ingredients
Batter
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (your favorite brand)
  • 1 (3.4-ozs) vanilla pudding, instant
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup white wine
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup water
  • vegetable spray (to grease the tube pan)
  • ¼ cup flour ( to dust the tube pan to prevent batter from stick to the tube pan)
Glaze
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • ¼ cup white wine
Instructions
  1. First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Next, in a large mixing bowl add the cake mix, vanilla pudding, eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, wine, vegetable oil, and water. Use a mixer to blend the batter altogether.
  3. Then spray the tube pan with the vegetable oil, and dust the pan with the flour. Shake the excess flour from the tube pan.
  4. Afterward, pour the batter into a greased tube pan and bake for an hour. Use a toothpick to test for doneness. If the toothpick comes out clean the cake is done. Remove it from the oven. Next use a chopstick, medium rod, or kebab skewer to poke holes throughout the top of the cake.
Glaze: In a saucepan melt the butter, granulated sugar, and white wine. Mix until thoroughly combined together.
  1. Pour the glaze all over the top of the cake allowing it to soak throughout.
  2. Now, allow the cake to cool for eight to ten minutes. Use a metal spatula to gently loosen the cake from the tube pan.
  3. Place the cake onto a cake plate. Serve with whip cream and enjoy!
