Taco Tuesday should be called feel good Tuesday. Why is that you ask? Tacos taste good and they are so easy to make. In addition, the foods required to make this dish are very inexpensive. Hence this dish will not negatively impact a budget. This saucy taco salad makes this dish so much fun. Hence the sauce is one of the most important factors. In fact, kids of all ages will sing the praises of this saucy taco salad. In addition, kids always love tacos. Furthermore its always great to add an exciting easy meal to your recipe book. How exciting is that?
This saucy taco salad actually gives you choices. How much fun could a taco salad be? This salad allows your family and friends the choice of building their own delicious taco salad for themselves. As a result, they will have the choice to create their own menu. Furthermore extending their options for healthy food choices. Place the ingredients in dishes on a counter or tabletop and allow everyone to serve themselves.

Use tortilla to make taco shells to fill your taco salad.
Make Your Own Baked Taco Shells
- I used 5 small tortillas to make my taco shells. Soften each tortilla for 40 seconds in the microwave to help mold them in the tortilla shell pan molds (they can be purchased on Amazon in sets of 2-large pans or 4-small pans) or you could use clean empty cans with the labels removed.
- Baked taco shells are really easy to make. In addition, you will need tortilla shell pan molds or clean empty cans with the labels removed baking sheet and vegetable spray.
- Spray the inside of the taco shell molds with vegetable spray. In addition mold the warm tortilla to the shape of the pans, or mold and drape the tortilla over the empty can.
- Bake the tortillas for 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees to obtain the taco shells.

It’s time to build a taco salad! Start with a bed of lettuce and go from there. Add the taco seasoned beef or omit the meat and go with the beans as your protein. - MEAT MIXTURE
- 8 ounces ground lean chuck (1/2 pound ground beef)
- 1 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground chili powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cracked pepper
- 3 tablespoons water
- OR omit the above seasoning and add 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning
- cheese of your choice (queso fresco and cheddar cheese)
- 5 TACO SHELLS
- 5 -small tortillas
- vegetable spray
- baking sheet
- 5 taco shell pans
- several clean empty cans with the label removed
- TOPPINGS
- 1 can black beans, rinsed
- shredded iceberg lettuce, or lettuce of your choice
- sliced black olives (small can)
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 medium chopped tomatoes
- chopped pepper, cilantro
- 1 chopped lime for garnish and squeezing on salad
- sliced radishes (optional)
- 1 cup salsa
- In a cast-iron skillet brown the beef, over medium-high heat, breaking up meat into small pieces as the meat continues to cook. In addition season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, ground chili powder, cracked pepper, salt, cumin and 2 tablespoons water. Cook the ground beef 8 to 10 minutes until thoroughly cooked through and through. Turn off heat and set aside.
- TACO SHELLS
- In

- ASSEMBLE TACO SALAD: In five tortilla taco bowls, layer lettuce, seasoned taco meat (omit if you like), black beans, salsa, olives, cilantro, cheese, radish, and peppers. Top with sour cream and a squeeze of lime. Enjoy your saucy taco salad!
