Apple Pomegranate Dutch Baby

This Dutch baby can make any meal special, it's quick and easy to make. The Apple Pomegranate Dutch Baby can be eaten for brunch, breakfast, dinner or dessert.
Ingredients
Batter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
Filling
  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • 3 teaspoons maple syrup or granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
Garnish: pomegranate whipping topping
Instructions
Batter
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl beat milk, eggs, flour, sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Heat 2 6-1/2inch cast iron skillets or one 10-inch cast-iron skillet on medium heat until hot. Add butter, swirling skillet until the butter is melted. Pour the batter into the skillet(s). Place the skillet(s) in the oven and bake until puffed and golden brown. This can take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and top with filling and toppings.
Filling
  1. In a medium bowl slice an apple and a pear, add maple syrup (or sugar), cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix all the ingredients together. In a medium skillet sauté the apple and pear mixture in 2 tablespoons of butter for a couple of minutes until heated through and through. Set aside, once the Dutch baby has finished baking, fill with apple pear filling and garnish with toppings as desired.
