Bountiful Crab Chowder

- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 large red onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 box frozen mixed vegetables (corn, green beans, and peas)
- 2 medium potatoes peeled and cut into medium cubed
- 1 can (16 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- ½ cup red wine
- ½ cup water
- 11/2 tablespoons OLD BAY Seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 10 ounces claw crabmeat (backfin crabmeat, shrimp or fish)
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil. Add peppers, onion, celery, and garlic; Saute until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in crushed tomatoes, wine, and water. Bring to a boil.
- Add the OLD BAY Seasoning, potatoes, mixed vegetables, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in crab (backfin crabmeat, shrimp or fish). Simmer 25 more minutes.
