Buttery Pecan Tarts

Buttery Pecan Tarts are the perfect dessert when you want something decadent. The mini tart pans help to create the perfect little pecan pies.
Ingredients
TART SHELLS
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 13/4 flour
FILLING
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • ⅓ cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 36 pecan halves
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
TART SHELL
  1. In large mixer bowl combine all tart shell ingredients. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture is crumbly (2 to 3 minutes).
  2. Press 1 tablespoon mixture into cups of mini tart pans to form 36 shells.
  3. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes or until very lightly browned.
  4. Remove from oven.
  5. Reduce oven to 350 degrees.
FILLING
  1. In a 2 quart saucepan combine all filling ingredients except chopped pecans and pecan halves.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a boil 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat; Stir in chopped pecans.
  4. Spoon into baked shells.
  5. Top each with a pecan half.
  6. Bake for 5 minutes.
  7. Cool; remove from pans.
