Apple Crumble Crisp is just a delicious dish of fall fresh flavor bubbling beneath a crisp golden crust. This dessert is filled with a creamy rich warm cinnamon sauce layered with a crunchy oatmeal topping layered with toasted pecan throughout.
Ingredients
Apple Filling
  • 6-8 cups apples Honey Crisp, Sweet Rome or Granny Smith (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice, fresh
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • vegetable spray
Pecan Crumble Crisp
  • ½ cup pecan, chopped
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup Old Fashion Rolled Oats
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 stick butter, softened
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 2 - 5-inch skillet, and 1-8X8 baking dish, or just 1-11X9-inch baking dish with vegetable spray. Set the skillets and baking dish aside.
  2. Peel, core, and cut the apples into medium size pieces. Add the apples to a large bowl along with the cinnamon, sugar, salt, corn starch, vanilla, and lemon juice. The lemon juice will help reduce the browning of the apples and lend a bit of tartiness to the crisp. Blend the ingredients with apples then refrigerate the apple filling while preparing the crumble crisp.
  3. Next, in a separate medium-size bowl combine all of the topping ingredients together in a bowl.
  4. Add the apple filling to the skillets and or baking dish.
  5. Finally, top with the crumble topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
