Crispy Baked Parmesan Chicken Wings

I kid you not,  I never need another fried wing again after having these deliciously baked wings. In addition baked chicken wings are a much healthier alternative to fried wings. Oh my goodness, I made crispy parmesan chicken wings recently and can I say they were Banging! Banging with a capital B.  I never knew I could get that much flavor in a baked chicken wing.  Crispy baked parmesan chicken wings where have you been all of my life.  Trust and believe these wings are here to stay. Furthermore I’m sure you would feel the say way if you were to try the crispy baked parmesan chicken wings.

I associate wings with sports, playoff games and super bowl teams.  The fact that fried wings are high in calories I try not to have them that often.  The local market makes it difficult to resist wings when they are having a sale on chicken wings. Hence we all know the best time to buy is when the wings are on sale.   In fact, I had no choice but to stock up on those little beauties.  Furthermore everybody knows chicken wings can be quite pricey.  I hit the chicken wing jackpot!  Now I get to experience the many different flavors chicken wings have to offer.  Sesame chicken will be the next wing that I will try.

On my way home from the grocery store, I couldn’t stop thinking about the parmesan wings served at my local Wingstop restaurant.  Man are those wings good.  They had me drooling just thinking about them as I drove home.  Thinking to myself there has to be a healthier way of preparing those wings without all the calories.

You know there is.  If you need an answer just Google it.  Hence answer solved.

This is not a difficult process.  Clean and prep your wings and season those babies to your liking.   Here is the secret the baking rack. In addition it helps to crisp the wing.   Therefore the air is able to circulate all around the wings during the baking process leading to a crispier product.  Consequently when the wings are allowed to lye on the flat surface of the baking tray they absorb the juices and are less likely to crisp up during the baking process.  Furthermore crowding the tray also is less likely to allow the wings to crisp.  Spray the rack with a vegetable spray to prevent the wings from sticking.   In addition place parchment paper on the bottom of the baking tray to allow for easy clean-up.

I like my wings nice and crispy.  The oven temperature should be 425 degrees. Bake the wings for a total of 40 minutes.  Turn the wings halfway through the baking process.  Watch the wings closely toward the end of the baking period you don’t want them to burn.  You may not want your wings quite as crispy.   Try reducing the temperature by 25 degrees to prevent over browning.  The next step is just icing on the cake decide on the type of sauce you want to dress your wing with.

I decided to make Parmesan wings, this was an easy choice for me since I had been craving Parmesan wings.  I used a combination of grated and shredded Parmesan cheese.  While the chicken was baking I made the sauce for the wings.  If you like you can eat the wings plain, that would be an even healthier choice.  The chicken wings would contain even fewer calories.

There is nothing else to say, these wings were Banging!  The crispy baked parmesan chicken wings were juicy and full of flavor.
