Island Breeze Pineapple Orange Margarita

I made Island Breeze Pineapple Orange Margaritas in celebration of National Margarita Day.  Who wouldn’t love pineapple and orange in a drink?  Especially being such an exotic drink.  Pineapple and orange automatically make me think of summer and tropical breezes.  I need a little summer while being stuck in the dead of winter.  When you’re in the middle of winter and a celebration of margaritas comes along it can absolutely put you into a tropical state of mind.

The fruity sweet combo of pineapple and oranges can be so refreshing.  The citrus flavor plays so well on the taste buds in your mouth.  Combine it with pineapple and it gets me thinking of a tropical climate.  Margaritas are one of my favorite cocktails.  I often think of my very first trip to Cancun, Mexico years ago in which I had my very first margarita.  Now, that conjures up lots of wonderful memories.

Lets’ go! Ready set create.  Island Breeze Pineapple Orange Margarita is easy to make.  The fruity margarita is made with tequila, triple sec, fresh pineapple, frozen orange juice concentrate, pineapple juice, coarse salt, orange zest, crushed ice, and fruit for garnish.

Rim two glasses with orange zest, salt, then add crushed ice.  In a blender add the fresh pineapple, half of the pineapple juice, and 2 tablespoons of sugar (optional).  Blend the pineapple mixture until smooth.  Add tequila, triple sec, orange juice concentrate, and the last half of the pineapple juice.  Pour into glasses and garnish with pineapple chunks, orange slices, and strawberries (optional).  Sip the margarita long and slow.  Enjoy, Happy Margarita Day everybody!
