The first time I tried guacamole was in a Mexican restaurant. Right there on the spot I dissected the dish, then ran right home to re-create the appetizer.  It was also helpful to have a waitress who was willing to share the ingredients found in guacamole.

In most guacamole recipes you will find avocado, tomatoes, jalapeno pepper, cilantro (optional), garlic, red (onion), lime juice, and spices.  Sometimes I use cumin, garlic powder, and chili powder.  With any recipe, you have to make it your own.  If your family hates cilantro then don’t put it in the guacamole.  Alright so if you don’t have a jalapeno pepper then use hot sauce or hot pepper.  It’s just as simple as that.  You know it will still be delicious!
