There are some foods that act as condiments and help other foods shine. One such condiment is spicy honey mustard sauce. Additionally, chicken nuggets, spinach wontons and Ruben balls are finger foods enhanced when they are accompanied by a condiment. Recently I made Ruben balls and added spicy honey mustard sauce to enhance the flavor of the appetizer.
I had never made spicy honey mustard sauce before. I’d only had the packets that came with fast foods. Can I say there is no comparison between the taste of a spicy honey mustard sauce packet and homemade sauce. The homemade spicy honey mustard sauce has much more flavor than the packet. For instance, there is no comparison in the taste of using fresh ingredients to make a condiment over the sauce packet.
The sauce is quick and easy to make you only need a few ingredients. Most of these ingredients can probably be found in your refrigerator and pantry.
Ingredients Needed
The ingredients that are needed are mayonnaise, rice vinegar, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, hot sauce, and honey.
Place the ingredients in a small bowl and blend all the ingredients together. Within minutes you have delicious spicy honey mustard sauce.
This sauce has so much flavor you will find a reason to use it with foods. It’s so good you just might find yourself dipping your finger into the sauce for that extraodinary taste.
Spicy Honey Mustard Sauce
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
- ½ teaspoon hot sauce
- 2 tablespoon honey
- In a small bowl blend the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, rice vinegar, yellow mustard, hot sauce, and honey. Once all the ingredients are in the bowl mix completely until smooth and fully blended. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator up to a week.
